About Us

History.

Thirty years ago retired teacher Joan Pearson, along with her husband John, decided that this area was in need of a Pre-school. Established in a large wooden hut in Joan and John Pearson’s own back garden in Bantham, the Pre-school was run by Mrs. Pearson with Mr. Pearson transporting the children to and from school.

Approximately twenty-five years ago a team of volunteers moved the whole building onto the grounds of All Saints Primary School in Thurlestone. A committee was established to which Mrs. Pearson donated the building. In 1998 the committee felt that more space was needed and worked hard to bring about an extension to the original hut, enabling the Pre-school to open all day, five days a week.
